Prof. Shu-Kai Hsieh’s paper “Language as action and coordination: A linguistic framework for agentic AI” has been formally published in Linguistic Research, Volume 43, Special Edition, by the Institute for the Study of Language and Information (ISLI) at Kyung Hee University.

The article argues that language in contemporary AI systems should be understood not only as a medium of representation, but also as an interface for action, a substrate for memory, and a coordination protocol for distributed intelligence — reinterpreting prompting and tool use through speech act theory, situating agentic AI within a broader ecology of semi-structured communication, and connecting the framework to representational geometry and typology-aware evaluation.

The manuscript is now in the final author-review stage ahead of the first proof. Read the publication record and paper (PDF).

謝舒凱老師 的論文 〈Language as action and coordination: A linguistic framework for agentic AI〉 正式獲韓國慶熙大學語言與資訊研究所(ISLI)之期刊 Linguistic Research 第 43 卷特刊發表。
