CLSW was initiated in 2000 together by Academician Chin-chuan Cheng at Sinica Academia (from City University of Hong Kong at that time), Prof. Shiwen Yu from the Institute of Computational Linguistics of Peking University, and Prof. Chu-Ren Huang of the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The previous workshops have been held in different Asia Pacific cities. CLSW has become one of the most important meetings for scholars of Chinese Lexical Semantics and related fields, including Theoretical Linguistics, Information Processing, and Computational Lexicography.

The 12th CLSW, will be held from May 3th to 5th, 2011 in conjunction with the Fifth Conference on Language, Discourse and Cognition (CLDC2011) at the Graduate Institute of Linguistics of National Taiwan University in Taipei.

The 12th Workshop (CLSW2011) is intended to bring together researchers involved in cognitive aspects of lexical semantics, including cognitive approach to word senses analysis, mental network of lexical knowledge, lexicalization of concepts, synonym differentiation, computational simulation of word senses, etc.

For this workshop we invite papers including but not limited to the following topics:

• Lexical Semantics
• Lexical Semantics and Formal Semantics
• Lexical Semantics and Cognitive Semantics
• Lexical Semantics and Functional Grammar
• Lexical Semantics and Natural Language Processing
• Lexical Semantics and Construction Grammar
• Lexical Semantics and Psycholinguistics/Neuro-linguistics
• Lexical Semantics and Pragmatics & Discourse Analysis
• Lexicalization & Grammaticalization
• Construction of Lexical Semantic Resources

Papers on any topic in Chinese Lexical Semantics and related fields are cordially welcomed.

In CLSW2011, English and Chinese are accepted, but will be assigned to separate sessions.

An author may submit at most one single author or first author abstract. In the case of joint authorship, one address should be designated for communication with CLSW2011.
Abstracts should be as specific as possible, with statements of topic, approach/methodology, analysis and conclusion. Abstracts are limited to six A4 pages in 12-point font (please refer to the "Paper Submission Template and Notification" files listed below). Data and examples must be given within the body of the text rather than at the end, though references may be included on a separate page, if necessary.

Authors must send electronic file formatted as MS WORD or Adobe Acrobat PDF file. The file should be anonymous.
